Goblins

Goblin Representing The Goblin / Goblish Race Of People.

Description

Goblin is the broad racial term which describes the small race of easy to push around people. They breed quickly and operate tools, machines, and various technologies. They are highly territorial and aggressive, protecting their homes from adventurers and invaders. They live normally like all other societies but as they are misunderstood as most can’t communicate with them, making them hunted like animals. As the other races exploded in tribes and villages, the Goblins acted in a similar way. They are a highly reproductive race who have a very fast growth cycle being developed in their mothers in 6 months. When breeding with other races their offspring can develop similar traits and magical abilities but take 12 months instead of 6 months. Goblins may be simplistic when it comes to their intelligence and communicational abilities but they have good battle sense and will rally into large armies that are very easy to control as they do not need to worry about things like moral or fear.

As there are 6 main species under the Goblin race, the Empire has discovered there needs to be additional classifications added to them. Originally it was thought Goblins were a bunch of different species with different characteristics based off of their general looks but then they began to discover many more types with many sub types and it became a mess. Now they are generalized by their overall head and body shape then based on other features.

Species And Faction

Species:
There are 6 major species of Goblins that have been discovered and exist within The Astarian Empire.

Goblin, Goblon, Gromlen, Gromlon, Forlen, Moutlin

There are 3 sub species of the Goblin Species. They can have Skin (No Title), Fur (Furred), or Scales (Scaled). They come in many different dark shades and complexions of the major colors being Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Green, Brown, Pink, and Purple. They are given the species title before their classification title which appears before their species.

Skin: Many goblins have either smooth or rough and rugged skin. This is the general form of the majority of Goblins found within the Astarian Empire and on other worlds throughout the galaxy.

Furred: Some goblins will develop short fur similar to beastfolk when they live in cold or dark areas and climates. This happens on ice worlds or even on watery worlds with warm blooded people.

Scaled: Some goblins will be covered in small scales similar to Lizardmen but are much smaller and more aggressive. This helps them survive in desert and hot climates due to their cold blooded nature.

There are 2 additional classifications and appearance altering effects of the Goblin Species which can occur throughout their ranks on rare occasions. They are given the classification title before their species name and after their species title.

Astral: These Goblins have glowing eyes and glowing astral runes on their bodies. This allows them to use Arcane magic with ease and can cast their spells silently.

Corrupted: These Goblins have black eyes and glowing demonic runes on their bodies. They begin to grow demonic features like horns, wings, and additional appendages. This allows them to use dark demon based magic and they naturally absorb nearby magic power from casted spells.

Goblin:
They have soft rounded heads and long thin pointed ears. Their noses are long and pointed with enhanced abilities to track scents. They have sharp teeth and sharp claws. They are the general all purpose Goblin person who fights and survives in the wilds and in the Astarian Empire.

Goblon:
They have soft rounded heads and large Elf ears. Their nose is flat, and instead of normal mouths they have a maw with lots of sharp and pointy teeth. They are short carnivorous people who grow slightly larger and stronger the more fletch they consume. As they devour more and more flesh their eyes begin to turn red and glow as the demonic taint slowly creeps on their bodies. They will begin to develop demonic runes on their body as they lose all their hair and begin to grow protruding horns. As the Goblon enters their 1000th year alive new horns will grow around their head completing their horn crown.

Gromlen:
They have flat faced canine heads and short pointed ears. Their noses are long and bulky with enhanced abilities to track scents. They have sharp teeth and sharp claws used to hunt and stalk their prey.

Gromlon:
They have oval shaped canine heads and long pointed ears. Their noses are short and bulky. They have sharp teeth hidden by a small mouth and long boney fingers with sharp claws used to hunt and stalk their prey.

Forlen:
Quadrupedal 4 legged smaller Goblin with a long ribbed tail that is fast and agile. They are nimble and effective diggers as they have short legs with sharp claws and webbed feet. They have an elongated head which keeps their low profile. They tend to be primarily herbivores and have flattened teeth, but can eat regular food. They can stand upright with assistance but generally they are quadrupedal and make for good scouts.

Moutlin:
They are semi-quadrupedal, main bipedal but will run using their hand in a hunched upright position to cover ground much faster. The arms are longer than its legs and can reach below the knees. The hands have long fingers with short thumbs and flat fingernails. The feet are adapted for grasping as the big toe is opposable. They have round feline heads and large long pointed ears. They have small but large nostril noses and their face is heavily wrinkled. They have a very wide mouth which opens into a large maw with sharp teeth to hunt and consume easily.

Culture

Their entire culture is focused on protecting their people at all costs. They will do anything they need to, to ensure their peoples survival.

Astarian Empire's Thoughts

Goblins breed quickly and produce soldiers quickly as they are highly effective and quick learners when it comes to military tools and equipment. They are smaller, more effective stealth units that are experts when it comes to long range and heavy ordnance weapons.

After The Cataclysmic Shift

After the Great Cataclysmic Shift the Goblins became much more territorial and aggressive.

Playing Goblins In TTRPG and or RPG Games:
In Role Playing Games, Goblins are seen as mobile combat focused skirmishers and all rounders able to do anything decently well. They excel with ranged weapons, large melee weapons, and simple magic as they close the distance on their target quickly.

Playing Goblins In Turn Based Strategy and or RTS Games:
In strategy games Goblins are seen as swarming all purpose multirole people that are great ranged combatants but terrible at up close melee combat. They are good spellcasters and assassins with great stealth capabilities.
