Trolls
Troll Representing The Troll Race Of People.
Description
Trolls are long eared dark skinned descendants of Elven people who left their homelands and were changed and empowered with magic becoming a new race of people. They are larger and more powerful than your standard Elf yet are more tribal and nomadic as they are also at home with the land like many Elven groups.
Species And Faction
Species:
There are 2 major species of Trolls that have been discovered and exist within The Astarian Empire.
The Standard Trolls have colored hair and skin tones who excel at using ranged weapons and barbaric combat.
The Elftol Trolls are more powerful and heavily changed when compared with the other species of Troll. They are less uniform as a society and fighting force as they vary greatly in size, shape, and how they live.
Troll:
Trolls developed from some high elves who left their cities and traversed the lands to settle new places. They settled outside the city in the vibrant forest to the east by the large pillar of magic which protects the high elf lands. The Trolls began to change after they left their homeland, first their ears began to elongate and their eyes began to space and squish increasing their vision range. Living in the shadows of the great pillar of magic which was bordering the high elven lands still allowed them most of their normal born powers and control but they began to wane the longer they remained out of the main city. After growing restless in their new woodsy home in the pillar's shadow, many smaller groups began to travel the lands. They developed their unique traits as their skin and hair changed as their magic changed and adapted to their new homelands when they settled the new areas they visited. Their skin darkened and changed color to match their surroundings and their long flowing hair began to change. El-Tral-Oel, an ancient elven script which meant “bad elf changed” now described their newly settled people. It was later shortened to Tral-Oel by the travelers and other races around them. Shortened over time to just Troel, which later was pronounced as Troll by Supreme King Astar when he met a delegate of the Troll People hailing from the world of Stormheim.
Forest Troll:
Forest Trolls underwent changes from the forests scattered across the vast lands. Their hair grows out long and green and slowly darkens over time the older and more mature they become. Their eyes are a pale grey and begin to turn into gemstone green and they begin to develop heightened senses as they age. The color of their skin is dictated by the forest they hail from, they are shades of whites, browns and deep colors like crimson and purple.
Ice Troll:
Ice Trolls underwent changes from the icy lands in the far north. Their hair grows out long and black. Their eyes are a pale grey and begin to turn into gemstone blue and they begin to develop heightened senses as they age. The color of their skin is dictated by the icy north and they are shades of whites, blues and greys.
Mountain Troll:
Mountain Trolls underwent different changes from the other Trolls around the land. Their hair grows out long and yellow blonde. Their eyes are a pale grey and begin to turn into gemstone red. The color of their skin is dictated by the mountain itself, they are of a crimson and dark brown complexion. They are larger in size growing in the mountains, they reach up to 3 meters tall.
Desert Troll:
Desert Trolls underwent changes from the desert lands of the south. Their hair grows out very short over their bodies while the hair on their head is short and brown. Their eyes are a pale grey and begin to turn into gemstone brown and they begin to develop heightened senses as they age. The color of their skin is dictated by the desert becoming shades of tan and brown.
Elftol:
Elftol developed from a burst of magic inside of the proud sky elves on their cloud top city on the world of Landheim. Due to a plague which spread amongst the sky elves their people were disfigured as they had longer ears and darker shades of colors. This prompted the sky elves to begin ejecting the disfigured elves from their cities off the southern edge as it was slightly lower to the ground and they aren’t monsters who would throw them from the top of buildings. After many generations the pile of bodies began to soften the fall and after the first few survivors, they began to pile the corpses of slain monsters to help soften the fall for the rest of the plague survivors. As the plague stopped within the elven city above the trolls split into large groups and settled the area. Due to them surviving the Plague above they have naturally gained resistances to curse, illness, disease, and dark magic.
Forest Elftol:
Forest Elftols are Elftols who underwent changes from the forest they hail in as the woods changed with magic, so did their bodies. Their limbs elongated and their skin became thick and hardened against the elements. Their hair grows green starting out very bright, absorbing the sun and slowly darkening as they grow older and more mature. Their hair grows not just from the top of their head but down their back along the spine. Their eyes are dark deep green and become brighter and more refined the more powerful their magic becomes. The color of their skin is dictated by the forest they hail from, they are shades of whites, browns and deep colors like crimson and purple.
Mountain Elftol:
Mountain Elftols are Elftols who underwent changes from the mountains they hail in as the land changed with magic, so did their bodies. They exploded in size, growing extra arms and a large tail. They tower over other trolls standing between 5-6 meters tall lumbering around the mountains as fierce warriors. They are slow and brutish as they cooperate with other Trolls, they will fight other races who invade their territories. In times of war or disaster they will allow other Troll people into their sacred Mountains and house them until the resources begin to dwindle, then they begin to consume their fellow Trolls.
Sand Elftol:
Sand Elftols sometimes called Desert Elftols are Elftols who underwent changes from the deserts and sand pits they hail in as the land changed with magic, so did their bodies. Their limbs shortened and their body elongated as their arms and legs adapted to their new 4 legged body. Their legs became powerful and springy allowing them to leap short distances and pounce on their target. Their hair grows yellow blonde starting out very bright, absorbing the sun and slowly darkening as they grow older and more mature. Their hair grows to a short length all over their body to protect their soft cream skin from sun exposure. Their eyes are dark deep Yellow and become brighter and more refined the more powerful their magic becomes. They develop sharp claws able to slice into soft metals and flesh as a natural defense mechanism.
Frost Elftol:
Frost Elftols sometimes called Ice Elftols are Elftols who underwent changes from the snowy and ice filled lands they hail in. Their skin is of a pale blue or pale purple and will darken over time as they grow in maturity and strength. Their eye color will begin to change, developing and splitting into up to 4 sections which determine what type of magic they can use. The larger the section the more powerful that magic is as it is more focused. They will begin to develop grey rings in their eyes once their power begins to exceed their current capabilities and they will grow much stronger. A 1 ringed mono red eye is just as strong as a 3 ringed 4 split red eye.
Dark Elftol:
Dark Elftols sometimes called Corrupted Elftols are Elftols who were once Frost Elftols that underwent changes based on the demonic influence in the area. They have all the same traits as the Frost Elftols with their skin becoming a shade of light black with grey runic script and demon markings on their face. Some may begin to develop horns, tusks, or even hooves.
Culture
Troll culture has become a celebration of 2 distant species that make up shattered and broken people united against evils to free and help oppressive people overcome and restore them to glory. This has led to them reenacting out their plights as dances in a ceremony of masks and drinking dew of the land.
Astarian Empire's Thoughts
The Troll people make up a bulk of allied forces as their skills with ranged weaponry and hand to hand and 1 armed combat are top of their class. When using knives and axes they truly use their skills to bring defeat to their enemies.
The Elftol make for great combat focused agents who tear apart their enemies with a force known only to those of intense oppression over the long years.
After The Cataclysmic Shift
After the Great Cataclysmic Shift the Troll and Elftol populations have exploded taking in more raw magical powers becoming stronger than before.
